So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver. II Corinthians 9:7

Tithe and Offering

The tithe according to scripture means “tenth”. The first tithe is recorded in Genesis 14:10-20. (NKJV) “And he blessed him and said, “Blessed be Abram by God Most High, Possessor of heaven and earth; and blessed be God Most High, who has delivered your enemies into your hands!” And Abram gave him a tenth of everything.

Malachi 3:10-12 New Living Translation (NLT) 10  Bring all the tithes into the storehouse so there will be enough food in my Temple. If you do,” says the LORD of Heaven’s Armies, “I will open the windows of heaven for you. I will pour out a blessing so great you won’t have enough room to take it in! Try it! Put me to the test!  11  Your crops will be abundant, for I will guard them from insects and disease. [a] Your grapes will not fall from the vine before they are ripe,” says the LORD of Heaven’s Armies.  12  “Then all nations will call you blessed, for your land will be such a delight,” says the LORD of Heaven’s Armies.

Every time God gives you an opportunity to give, He is also giving you an opportunity to increase your income. Malachi 3:10, “Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse.” It is important that you give your tithe to the place that feeds you spiritually. When you plant your seed in the Lord’s house, God will multiply it  supernaturally beyond your wildest dreams. Our giving should be done cheerfully to glorify and worship God by serving His people – our brothers and sisters.
We plant by reaching out to others and then reap as God reaches out to us. God said to Abraham, “I will bless you and you shall be a blessing.” By choosing to tithe to White Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church, you are blessing and making an eternal difference in the lives of so many!
